Meetings: Thursdays 7:30am – Sweetwater Café – Lakewood Country Club

Our Club has a trailer with all the necessary equipment like grills, griddles, tables, chairs, generators, etc. to prepare meals in areas hit by natural disasters like hurricanes or tornadoes. We are a rapid response deployment team using Club members to transport the trailer, food, and water into disaster areas. We prepare hot meals – usually hamburgers and hot dogs with condiments- chips, fruit, and a bottle of water in takeout clamshell packages.
In the past we have served 600 or more meals per day. Our rapid deployment fills the gap between when major charities like the Red Cross and UMCOR can reach impacted areas. Once the major players arrive, we stand down until the next disaster.

Over the last decade, the Point Clear Rotary Club has provided scholarships to deserving and top of their class students from schools on the Eastern Shore. During this time, $117,000 in scholarships has been awarded. The selection process is rigorous, and the selected students all exhibit exceptional character, financial need, and leadership qualities.

Our club is one of the supporters of the local Fairhope – Point Clear Rotary Youth Club. The Youth Club has afterschool programs during the school year as well as summer programs and a first-class pre-K program. The Youth Club doors open each day at 3pm to offer a safe and supportive environment for our kids. The afterschool program offers an afternoon of recreation and enrichment including art, music, or swim lessons on Fridays. Master Gardener volunteers work with club members in the “outdoor classroom” garden raising lettuce, carrots and brussel sprouts that become healthy snacks in the Youth Club kitchen. All local children are welcome regardless of ability to pay.
